The academic planning process began with the Principal’s issuing of the Where Next? document in January 2010, in which he suggested a number of possible directions for Queen’s and asked some general questions. Preliminary responses to these questions were provided by faculties and administrative units; these are posted on the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) website.
Over the summer, an Academic Writing Team (AWT) considered these materials and met with members of the Queen’s community. The team submitted a series of goals and recommendations to the Principal.
On August 23, 2010, the Academic Writing Team submitted its report to Principal Daniel Woolf.
The Queen’s community was invited to make comments on any or all of the goals and recommendations and participate in the on-line discussion of the academic plan. All comments are listed and hyperlinked at the bottom of this page in reverse chronological order.
You can read them all together by clicking on the RSS feed link below.
All commenting in this forum is now closed, as a new Academic Planning Task Force was struck by Queen’s Senate in November 2010 to continue the work of the Academic Writing Team and draft the university’s Academic Plan. Please follow that discussion on The Senate Academic Planning site.
