General Requirements

  • Five academic courses, including English, at the 122 level. Prerequisite subjects at the 122 level preferred.
  • Students receiving a recognized Provincial High School Diploma will be assessed on % grades reported
  • Students receiving a High School issued diploma, that is not formally recognized by the province, but are receiving an IB diploma, will be assessed using only the Predicted Grades submitted by the school

Fine Art [QT]

English 122 plus four additional academic Grade 12 courses. Music requirements as for Ontario or Quebec. Personal audition, interview and aural discrimination test.
Kinesiology [QK] English 122, Biology 122, Mathematics 12*, plus two of Calculus 120, Chemistry 122, or Physics 122. *Acceptable academic courses for Math 12 are: Advanced Math with Calculus 120 or both Pre-Calculus 12A and Pre-Calculus12B.
Commerce [QC]

English 122, Calculus 120 or Mathematics 12* with minimum grades of 80%, plus three additional academic Grade 12 courses. *Acceptable academic courses for Math 12 are: Advanced Math with Calculus 120 or both Pre-Calculus 12A and Pre-Calculus12B

Engineering [QE]

Engineering and Computer Engineering Stream [QEC]

QBridge Engineering [QXE]

English 122, Calculus 120 or Mathematics 12*, Chemistry 122, Physics 122. Final grade in English 122 must be 70%. *Acceptable academic courses for Math 12 are: Advanced Math with Calculus 120 or both Pre-Calculus 12A and Pre-Calculus 12B.

Note: Engineering admission average is calculated using only the prerequisite subjects.

Nursing Science [QN]

English 122, Biology 122, Chemistry 122, any Grade 12 Mathematics (except Financial and Workplace Math 12) , plus one additional academic Grade 12 course. Final grade in English 122 must be 75%.

 

Admission notes for students completing the New Brunswick Curriculum:

Please note for application purposes, Queen's University requires you to submit a High School Issued transcript that includes courses you are currently enrolled in as well as courses you are registered in for your 2nd Semester (if in a Semestered/Term High School). Applicants whom have been offered admission will be required to submit a final transcript directly from their High School.

Students whom have already completed and received their New Brunswick Diploma must arrange for a final High School transcript indicating graduation to be sent directly to Queen's from their previous High School in order to complete their document requirements.
