Advanced Placement (AP) Transfer Credits

The Faculty of Arts and Science, the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science, the Smith School of Business, the School of Computing and the School of Nursing all grant credit for AP courses. For students in all faculties and schools, a maximum of 18.0 credit units may be granted.

Undergraduate Admission will assess students' Advanced Placement courses to determine whether or not Queen's credits can be granted. In order to have these courses assessed, students must arrange to have official examination results in the form of the College Board AP Grade Report sent to Undergraduate Admission. Undergraduate Admission will not request these reports on a student's behalf. In order to obtain the grade report, students will need to provide the Queen's institution code, which is 0949.

Finally, only Advanced Placement courses with scores of 4 or higher will be considered for credit. In addition, there are some courses that will not be given Queen's credit, regardless of a student's score on the exam.

Please click on the links below (organized by faculty or school) for an up-to-date current of the transfer credits granted to students entering Queen's from the AP program.
