Transfer Credit Policies

Students entering into their first year of study at Queen’s, who have previously taken courses during high school that may be eligible for transfer credit, must apply for credit no later than the end of fall term of their first year.  For students in all faculties and schools, a maximum of 18.0 credit units may be granted. Programs include Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, CEGEP, and General Certificate of Education (GCE)/A Levels.

Eligible students who do not submit a transfer credit request (and all supporting documents) by the end of first term are considered to have declined credit. Transfer credit requests submitted after fall term of the student’s first year will not be assessed and the student will not receive credit. Please click here: http://queensu.fluidsurveys.com/surveys/ua/first-year-transfer-credit-request-form/ to complete your online request for transfer credits.

Your transfer credit(s) will be posted on SOLUS approximately 10 business days after we receive your official results.

Have you taken University courses after graduating high school and before attending Queen's?

Students who have taken post-secondary credit prior to attending Queen’s, but after graduating high school, must disclose this information on the OUAC application form and will be required to submit documentation prior to a final decision on their application. Failure to disclose all post-secondary studies during time of application is considered Academic Dishonesty and may result in withdrawal from the University. Eligible students who do not submit course descriptions (where required) by the end of their first term are considered to have declined credit.

If you have taken previous university courses before attending your first-year at Queen's and are requested to submit course descriptions, please use the following link to submit your information online:

You will need to enter the following information in the online form:

  • University Name (where you took the course)
  • University Subject
  • Course Code
  • Credit Value
  • Attach or copy and paste a detailed course outline

Once we have received the information electronically, the request for "Post-Secondary Course Descriptions" will be removed from your SOLUS to-do list.

Please note that paper-based outlines are not accepted for transfer credit review.
