College Applicants

Candidates who have graduated from a 2 or 3-year College Diploma program, or a 4-year college degree program are considered on an individual basis and must meet specified admission prerequisites based on the program they are interested in applying to.

College Certificate Graduates or 1 year of a 2 or 3-year Diploma completed

Applicants presenting a College Certificate or have completed 1 year of a 2 or 3-year program are not eligible for admission consideration unless they have completed the final academic secondary school requirements for admission in the jurisdiction in which they attended secondary school. These applicants may be eligible for admission consideration based on their high school courses. 2-year Diploma Graduates

Applicants presenting a 2-year diploma (or 2 years of a 3-year diploma) are eligible to be considered for admission to first-year of a degree program. Students entering a program under the Faculty of Arts and Science are eligible to receive up to 18.0 units of unspecified 100-level transfer credit. 3-year Diploma and 4-year College Degree Graduates

Applicants presenting a 3-year Diploma or a 4-year College Degree are considered upper-year students any must apply as a transfer student.

EXCEPTIONS

Engineering: applicants must have completed 6 of the 11 common first-year university-level courses equivalent to those taken in the Queen's Engineering program (normally two semesters each of Calculus, Chemistry and Physics). Students who have not completed these courses must apply as a first-year student to the Engineering program.

Nursing: acceptance to the 4-year Nursing program is only available by entering first-year.

 

Admission requirements for College applicants by program

All applicants must have a minimum 2.9 cumulative GPA (on a 4.3 scale) in order to be eligible for admission consideration. Please note that high school marks are not used in the average calculation. In addition to diploma completion, some Queen's programs require specific high school course prerequisites:

Graduates of Technology programs are considered for first year. Exemptions for upper-year courses may be granted after the completion of the common first year and an engineering discipline has been chosen.

Nursing Science (QN)
