Information for Queen's Students wanting to transfer into the Faculty of Arts and Science. Based on the number of their transferable credits, they will be entering either first-year or upper-year admission.
Those who have at least 24.0 units of transferable credits are upper-year admission, and those with fewer than 24.0 units are first-year admission.
1 February - APPLICATION DEADLINE for first-year students (those with fewer than 24.0 units)
1 June - APPLICATION DEADLINE for upper-year students (those with at least 24.0 units)
Application
Queen's students who wish to transfer to a degree program offered in the Faculty of Arts and Science must submit an application through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) using a 105D Application.
Current Arts and Science students who wish to remain the Faculty of Arts and Science, but change their Program or Plan, should contact their faculty office for information on how to request those changes. Such students should not apply through OUAC.
Applicants should refer to the Faculty of Arts and Science Academic Regulation 13.8.1 - Ineligible to Proceed to an Honours Degree for criteria on Honours degree eligibility and the minimum cumulative GPA requirement.
* Transferable credit units are those which have equivalent courses in the Faculty of Arts and Science.
Upper-year applicants must state their intended degree program and Plan. Due to space limitations, not all Plans are open to students transferring into the Faculty of Arts and Science. After being admitted to an open Plan, upper-year transfer students will not be able to transfer into a Plan that was closed when they were admitted to Queen’s, or that closes subsequently. This is the case even for those who take a qualifying course once at Queen’s and receive a competitive average.
