Internal Transfer to the Bachelor of Science, Kinesiology

APPLICATION

Queen's Engineering, Commerce, Nursing, or Distance Studies students who wish to transfer to the Bachelor of Science program in Kinesiology must submit an application to the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) using a 105D Application

Current on-campus Arts and Science students who wish to switch into Kinesiology may request this change through the Plan Selection Process.  Please contact the Faculty of Arts and Science ( www.queensu.ca/artsci)

Based on the number of their attempted units, applicants will be entering either first-year or upper-year admission.

Those who have attempted at least 24.0 units of credits are considered for upper-year admission, and those with fewer than 24.0 units are first-year admission.  Please note, failures are considered attempted units.

1 February - APPLICATION DEADLINE for first-year students  (those with fewer than 24.0 units attempted)

1 June - APPLICATION DEADLINE for upper-year students (those with at least 24.0 units attempted)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for admission consideration as an upper-year student to the Bachelor of Science program in Kinesiology, students

  • must have a minimum GPA of 3.3
  • must be a full-time student
  • must have taken university preparatory courses in Biology, and two of Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics (or equivalents). Please note: students who completed an Ontario secondary school curriculum must have taken university preparatory courses in Biology and Advanced Functions, and two of Calculus & Vectors, Chemistry or Physics, or equivalents.
 

Cumulative GPA Calculation

Your academic record will continue to be relevant in your new Program.  In particular, the cumulative GPA will be calculated on all courses attempted during the student's undergraduate career at Queen's, and will be utilized when assessing academic progression and prerequisites, and any other purpose specified under the Academic Regulations.  Courses that were not passed in your previous Program will count as failures in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

After accepting an offer of admission to the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, students should consult with Kathy Jackson, Chair of Undergraduate Studies in the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies.
