Queen's students in Engineering, Commerce, Nursing, or Distance Studies wanting to transfer to the Bachelor of Music program must submit an application through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) using a 105D Application.
Current Arts and Science on-campus students who wish to remain in the Faculty of Arts and Science, but change their Program to a Bachelor of Music degree should contact their Faculty office for information on how to request those changes. Such students should not apply through OUAC.
Based on the number of their attempted units, applicants will be entering either first-year or upper-year admission.
Those who have attempted at least 24.0 units of credits are considered for upper-year admission, and those with fewer than 24.0 units are first-year admission. Please note, failures are considered attempted units.
1 February - APPLICATION DEADLINE for first-year students (those with fewer than 24.0 units attempted)
1 June - APPLICATION DEADLINE for upper-year students (those with at least 24.0 units attempted). Students can apply between 1 March and 1 June, and are encouraged to apply early because of the required audition.
As part of the application, applicants are required to attend an audition. The School of Music holds auditions mainly in March and April; however, auditions can be arranged for students applying after the regular deadline. Auditions are scheduled through the School of Music. You can visit the School of Music website for specific Audition Requirements and sample repertoires.
Selection will be based on academic record and musical qualifications as demonstrated at the audition.
Minimum GPA required - 1.6

Your academic record will continue to be relevant in your new Program. Courses that were not passed in your previous plan will count as failures in the Faculty of Arts and Science.
