Information for Queen's Students

APPLICATION DEADLINE - 1 FEBRUARY

Students in other Faculties or Schools at Queen's University may be considered as first-year or second-year applicants to the Bachelor of Music program depending on the courses that they have taken.  The application for this program can be found here and must be submitted to Undergraduate Admission as per the instructions on the application form.

As part of the application, applicants are required to complete a Personal Statement of Experience (PSE) and attend an audition.

All applicants must submit a Personal Statement of Experience (PSE). This will appear as an item on your To-Do List on SOLUS, your Student Center (which you will access through https://my.queensu.ca/portal/dt). You will find a link to the PSE system on your Student Center page under Admission.

Submission of the PSE should be as soon as possible after the PSE is available on-line. Note that the PSE must be on file before an applicant can audition.

The School of Music holds auditions mainly in March and April, however, auditions can be arranged for students applying after the regular deadline.   Auditions are scheduled through the School of Music. You can visit the School of Music website for specific Audition Requirements and sample repertoires.

Selection will be based on academic record, the PSE and musical qualifications as demonstrated at the audition. Applicants are informed in late May when final results are available.

Cumulative GPA Calculation

Your academic record will continue to be relevant in your new plan.  Courses that were not passed in your previous plan will count as failures in the Faculty of Arts and Science.
Please note that all credits will transfer to Arts and Science, Kinesiology, Physical and Health Education and Music. For more information please refer to Academic Regulation 10 and Academic Regulation 13.
