General Requirements

 

  • Grade 12 graduation with a minimum GPA of B- on four academic courses from an accredited high school. Prerequisite courses should be completed at the Junior or Senior level.
  • A school profile is required. AP courses are considered excellent preparation for university courses and may be eligible for degree credit.
  • SAT1 results may be required, regardless of citizenship (minimum score of 1200 with no less than 580 Critical Reading and 520 Mathematics. Writing scores will be used only for statistical purposes.) A minimum ACT score of 26 is also acceptable. (College Board code 0949.  ACT Code 5236).

Grade 12 English (two terms), four full-year courses in each of Mathematics and Science. One, preferably two, full-year courses in two of Biology, Chemistry, or Physics; should be completed in the Junior or Senior year.
Computing [QD] Grade 12 English (two terms), four full-year courses in Mathematics. Calculus is recommended.
Concurrent Education Arts[QB] Grade 12 English (two terms)
Concurrent Education Science [QF] Grade 12 English (two terms), four full-year courses in each of Mathematics and Science. One, preferably two, full-year courses in two of Biology, Chemistry, or Physics; should be completed in the Junior or Senior year.
Concurrent Education Computing [QG] Grade 12 English (two terms), four full-year courses in Mathematics. Calculus is recommended.
Fine Art [QT] Grade 12 English (two terms).  Portfolio examination.
Music [QM] Grade 12 English (two terms). Personal audition, interview and aural discriminations test.
Concurrent Education Music [QMM] Grade 12 English (two terms). Personal audition, interview and aural discriminations test.
Physical and Health Education [QPH] Grade 12 English (two terms). One, preferably two, full-year courses in Biology.  Biology should be completed in Junior or Senior year.
Kinesiology [QK] Grade 12 English (two terms), four full-year courses in each of Mathematics and Science. Biology and one of Chemistry or Physics; should be completed in the Junior or Senior year.
Commerce [QC]

Grade 12 English (two terms), four full-year courses in Mathematics. AP Calculus is recommended. Minimum English and and Mathematics grades of 80% or equivalent.

Engineering [QE]

Grade 12 English (two terms), four full-year courses in Mathematics. One, preferably two, full-year courses in each of Chemistry and Physics. Chemistry and Physics should be completed in Junior or Senior year.  Minimum English final grade of 70% or equivalent.

Nursing Science [QN]

Grade 12 English (two terms), four full-year courses in Mathematics. One, preferably two, full-year courses in each of Biology and Chemistry. Biology and Chemistry should be completed in Junior or Senior year.  Minimum English final grade of 75% or equivalent.

 

Applicants are evaluated on the basis of their Junior and Senior year grades, the strength of their academic program, their ­performance on the SATI or ACT ­examinations, and the Personal Statement of Experience. A high school profile must be provided. Essays and ­letters of reference will not be considered.

If you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident you are required to obtain a Study Permit to attend a post-secondary institution in Canada. With an offer of admission, you will receive a Certificate of Admission, which is required to apply for a Study Permit, which may be obtained at a Canadian Embassy or Consulate. Please note that this process can take up to eight weeks.
