A variety of non-degree full-time study options for international students are available through Queen’s School of English, part of the Faculty of Arts and Science.

The Queen's University English Bridging Program (QBridge) is a university preparation program through which select students can receive a conditional offer to degree studies at Queen's.  Successful applicants will be admitted and enrolled in the Queen's School of English and then admitted to the undergraduate degree program, conditional upon satisfactory completion of an advanced English language training course.  This course will be offered in the Spring/Summer term, beginning in 2010.  For more information about QBridge visit http://www.queensu.ca/qsoe/qbridge.html or email us at admission@queensu.ca.

The 12-week English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program features an innovative, integrated skills, content-based curriculum.

The 4- or 8-week English Language and Culture Program (ELC) is a student-centred immersion program, which integrates the four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking, using Canadian cultural and social content.  This program puts particular focus on developing communicative competence in speaking and listening.

In the 13-week Business Internship Program, students gain classroom and workplace experience, allowing them to develop their English language skills in a professional context.

The School also offers part-time courses, such as:

  • Introduction to Business Communication
  • Pronunciation and Conversation
  • Grammar Boot Camp
  • English for Professional Purposes: Pronunciation and Presentation Skills, and
  • TESL/TEFL (Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language).

Tailored programs for groups/institutions are also available on request.  Please contact Queen's School of English for more information.
