REMARKS: Students are eligible to receive a maximum of eighteen (18.0) transfer credits for Advanced Placement exams with a score of 4 or greater. Advanced Placement credits can be applied as Arts and Science credits towards the B. Comm. degree. Students who wish to use AP credit(s) will be expected to maintain a normal course load in years 1, 2, and 3 and consequently the credits will normally be applied in year 4.
1) Calculus AB is equivalent to MATH 123*, which is the first-half of our full-year, full-credit Calculus course - MATH 121. Calculus BC is equivalent to both halves of 121 and so the higher credit-value course has been awarded.
2) AP Economics (ECON 110), can be used to replace the required first year credit in Economics. However, the student shall maintain a 33 credit unit load by enrolling in an additional 6 credit units in Arts and Science electives or in the second year economics requirement and a 3 credit unit Arts and Science elective.
3) Please note that a grade of 5 in AP Psychology is required for access to the Major program in Psychology. A grade of 4 is required for access to the Medial program in Psychology. Students considering the Major or Medial program in Psychology will be allowed access to upper-year core courses in Psychology in their first year of study, providing there is sufficient space available.
4) AP Statistics can be used to replace the required first year credit course in statistics (COMM 162). However, the student shall maintain a 5.5 credit load by enrolling in another 0.5 credit.
5) All students wishing to pursue a concentration in History must take 1.0 100-level History credits in addition to the transfer credit given.
