About Us

The Office of Advancement, consisting of the Office of the Vice-Principal (Advancement), Development, Advancement Communications and Marketing, Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, and Advancement Services was established in 1993 and is governed by the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees.

Led by Vice-Principal (Advancement) Thomas J. Harris, the Office of Advancement at Queen’s works to move people to extraordinary levels of support for the university.

The Advancement portfolio works together to initiate and build relationships with alumni, friends and benefactors to inspire unprecedented support to sustain a leading balanced academy that conducts world-class research and prepared graduates to be the leaders of tomorrow at home and around the world.

Our office leads the strategic process by which the university advances appropriate constituent relations to further the broader strategic vision and academic mission of the university. It is through the advancement of these relationships that the university is able to align volunteer and donor priorities with those of the university to further establish Queen’s as Canada's quintessential balanced academy, recognized equally for its research excellence and its transformative student learning experience, and being a destination for exceptional people.
