Departmental Acknowledgement Program takes gold

An innovative project in the Office of Advancement at Queen's has been named the Best Advancement Services initiative of 2011 by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education.

The Departmental Acknowledgement Program, a joint initiative by Rachel Fonger, Manager, Business Analytics in Advancement Services, and Lisa Menard, Development Officer, Stewardship in Annual Giving, created an improved process to thank donors across Queen's. This new, web-based Departmental Acknowledgement Program resulted in 98% of donations now being recognized by Departments and Faculties.

In addition, this new program is easier, more convenient and more secure than previous methods. Awareness of donations and the effective ways to steward donors has also increased.

Fundraising tools, such as"Give Now" buttons on departmental websites and customized giving webpages, have also increased awareness.

Congratulations to Rachel and Lisa for this important project and taking top honours in Canada.
