January 2014 fundraising results

The following are highlights based on the tables below and major initiatives in the month of January.

Initiative Campaign (2006-2016)

  • Campaign donations now total $394.8M (79%) against the $500M goal
  • Gift Planning expectancies (the estimated value of future bequests, insurance, and registered account and trust proceeds confirmed by donors) now total $94.9M (95%) against a separate $100M campaign goal

Fiscal Year (May 2013- April 2014)

  • Donations this Fiscal Year total $52.2M – an increase of $10.8M from the December total of $41.4M
  • The fiscal goal for May 2013 – April 2014 is $60M
  • 7 gifts of $100K+ accounted for $9.1M of the $10.8M in donations received in January
  • 44 gifts of $100K+ account for $41.6M of the $52.2M donated this Fiscal Year – these figures support our continued emphasis on principal ($5M+) and major gifts ($100K+).

Annual Giving Overview

  • Annual Giving revenue (that is, all gifts less than $25K) has increased 3.3% compared to last Fiscal Year.
  • Annual Giving average gift size has increased 7.9% compared to last Fiscal Year.
  • Number of alumni donors has decreased 6.3% compared to last Fiscal Year, and number of total donors has decreased 3.7%.

Campaign Cabinet

  • The Initiative Campaign Cabinet met on January 22.
  • Principal Woolf and Vice-Principal Harris laid out their strategy for the remainder of the Campaign to achieve our $500M goal.
  • We have set an internal goal of reaching $500M by December 2015. This would enable us to potentially set a stretch goal for 2016.
  • The Chairs of each Faculty/Unit Cabinet provided an update and shared their strategy for the successful completion of their campaigns.

The following tables provide a detailed summary of the financial results:
