WHAT

Queen’s MiniU is presented in partnership with the Queen’s University Alumni Association (QUAA) as an opportunity for members of the Queen’s and Kingston communities to visit campus for a fun weekend of educational, cultural, social, and recreational activities. It is a chance for people with a shared interest in life-long learning to connect in a warm and welcoming atmosphere with unique access to Queen’s stellar faculty and award-winning facilities.

WHERE

Queen’s MiniU takes place on Queen’s Campus in Kingston with sessions held in various facilities located within walking distance on campus. Upon arrival, participants will receive a registration package complete with a personalized and detailed itinerary.

WHY

Why Queen’s MiniU?
The QUAA is responding to increased demand for programming that showcases the true focus of the University – its academic and research excellence.

We’ve assembled stellar Queen’s faculty, staff, students, alumni, and local experts, and combined them with our great campus environment to create an exhilarating learning experience for the entire family.

Whatever you choose to participate in over the weekend – thought-provoking sessions, hands-on demonstrations, the Last Lecture on Earth, or cultural activities and events – you’ll enjoy unique access to the very best that Queen’s and Kingston have to offer.

HOW (to register)

Registration is required. Online registration is now closed. To inquire about signing up for À la Carte sessions or activities, please contact Melanie at miniu@queensu.ca or call 1-800-267-7837.

Payment Options
Payment by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, or online debit) will be accepted online or over the phone. We will also accept payment by cheque, however registration cannot be confirmed until payment is received in our office.

CANCELLATION POLICY

100% Refund for cancellations received before April 30, 2012
50% Refund for cancellations received from May 1 – May 15, 2012
No Refund after May 15, 2012 (substitutions are permitted)

REUNIONS

MiniU Weekend presents an exciting opportunity for classes or groups interested in holding a reunion on campus in the spring. If alumni are interested in planning a reunion for their class or group during MiniU, we can help! Contact Carey Morrison at carey.morrison@queensu.ca or x74599 for further details.

PARKING

Parking will be available on any Queen’s University surface parking lot at no cost from noon on Friday through Sunday. A campus map showing surface parking lot locations (coloured orange) is available online at http://www.queensu.ca/pps/parking/parkmap.pdf  Guests SHOULD NOT park on the street as vehicles without a permit in these locations are subject to ticketing by Kingston police.

CONSTRUCTION

Queen's is currently engaged in exciting new developments on campus, including an expansion to the School of Business in Goodes Hall on Union St. and renovations to the underground parking lot on Stuart St. To ensure everyone’s safety, unauthorized entry onto any construction site is strictly prohibited. Trespassers will be charged.
