Padre Laverty Award
Inaugurated in 1967 as the Kingston Award, the Padre Laverty Award is presented by the Kingston Branch of the Queen's University Alumni Association to an alumna/us, usually a resident of the Kingston area, for service to Queen's and the Kingston community.
In 1991, it was renamed to commemorate the long and distinguished service of the first University Chaplain, Padre A. Marshall Laverty.

Jim Bennett Achievement Award
Inaugurated in 1993 as the Kingston Achievement Award, this award is presented annually by the Kingston Branch of the Queen's University Alumni Association to honour Kingstonians who have made outstanding achievements in careers, sport, the arts, or volunteer endeavours. In 2000, it was renamed posthumously as The Jim Bennett Achievement Award to commemorate the distinguished and dedicated service of the late Dr. Jim Bennett to the University, to its students, and to the citizens of the greater Kingston community.
