Queen's Competes on Biotech World Stage in Boston The 2012 Queen's Genetically Engineered Machine team took their project of raising bacteria with toxic-chemical-destroying proteins in their tails, illustrated with some experimental dance, to the Pittsburgh regional finals then right here to MIT for the iGEM world championship this year in early November. So far Queen's has been to the finals every year they have entered, so congratulations to this year's team, and we very much hope to introduce next year's team to local alumni at the 2013 finals!
Upcoming Events
Pan-Canadian University Alumni Reception The Boston Consul-General is co-hosting this annual event this year with the Québec Government's Boston delegation at the Elephant and Castle pub's Revere Room, 161 Devonshire St. in Boston, on Monday March 25 from 5:30 to 8pm. Yes, a Monday, but also the night of a Bruins-Leafs matchup which they invite you to stay at the pub to watch. Very generous of the Québécois to sponsor a Leafs game. And the Consulate always sponsors excellent snacks and refreshments. RSVP to the Consulate by March 18th at boston.rsvp@international.gc.ca or by calling (617) 247-5123. Attendance is free but limited to 50 people so register today!
