We'll be able to stay at the Queen's University Biology Station. The water will still be on, so you have the full range of the particular cabin or cottage in which you’d like to stay, for $24/person/night. Can’t bring your own bedding (sleeping bag or linens & blanket)? We can provide it & toweling for a small additional cost (less than $10 for the stay). E-mail email@example.com for more details!
We can cope with meals ourselves, for example, eating dinners in Kingston or the restaurant of the Hotel Kenney at not-too-distant Jones Falls (Hotel Opinicon, sadly, has been closed this season), and preparing breakfasts/brunches/lunches as a group. Do let me know.
The lake will still be quite warm, the canoes will be available, birds will be migrating, the leaves will be well into the gorgeous autumn colours of eastern North America, a variety of habitats and trails await, and there will be former classmates and even profs with whom to chat. If this kind of reunion weekend appeals to you, e-mail me, and register with Queen’s (no cost, & a 35-year pin).
We also have the options of
• Guided walk/tour at QUBS
• Guided tour of Queen’s Biosciences Complex, including the Phytotron
• Guided tour(s), for which the links here lead to virtual tours, of Stauffer Library &/or the evolved Douglas Library &/or the Bracken Health Sciences Library
• Guided tour of the new Queen’s Athletics & Recreation Centre. Note that the old gyms in which we trained and competed, not to mention registered each fall and wrote exams, have not disappeared!
Here is an interactive campus map.
Share what has been happening in your life since graduating from Queen's Biology. Is Biology still part of your life, even if it did not turn out to be your career field (e.g., through birdwatching, gardening, nature walks, teaching, writing a subject-related blog)? Feel free to include photos.
You will be sent the link to our private blog, where these updates & photos can be viewed. A listing of all our former biology classmates and a smidjin of information about each already exists, awaiting your changes and additions! You may leave them in the form of comments, or send them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll incorporate them into your profile. Additional photos will be added to our Photo Gallery.
