CFRC Open House

Stop by CFRC for tours, historical displays, a chance to be on-air, plus coffee and treats prepared by CFRC staff and volunteers. Or join us just outside the station for music and conversation.

September 29, 2012

Contact Microphone Building Workshop

Make radio wherever you go! Use simple supplies, provided free of charge - wire, audio connectors, a singing birthday card - to create an entirely new object capable of capturing unique and unusual audio. Presented at CFRC in Lower Carruthers Hall, in conjunction with Culture Days, and supported by the Community Investment Fund.

Discussion on the Future of CFRC

CFRC welcomes alumni, students, and community members to discuss the background, current situation, and solutions to CFRC's funding crisis and governance changes. CFRC staff and volunteers seek your input and recommendations on how best to provide CFRC with a secure future at Queen's.

90th Anniversary Party
Join CFRC alumni and friends for our 90th anniversary celebration at Megalos, 226 Princess Street in downtown Kingston.  This event will feature an a-la-carte menu and cash bar; a silent auction and historical presentation; toasts and recognition of alumni who have had a special impact on CFRC’s history; and a social and dance featuring CFRC DJs past and present sharing their favourite tunes.  Admission is free.   The events will take place on Megalos lower floor, starting at 8pm.

Transmitter Building Workshop

Make radio wherever you go! Build and test your own micro-FM transmitter with facilitators from Toronto's New Adventures In Sound Art (NAISA). Presented at CFRC in Lower Carruthers Hall and supported by the Community Investment Fund.

Remote Broadcasting Workshop

Make radio wherever you go! Learn how to use simple software and an internet connection to set up a live broadcast from any location. Presented at CFRC in Lower Carruthers Hall and supported by the Community Investment Fund.
