Reunion Plans - October 26 to 28, 2012

Hello Classmates!

Fall is arriving and so is our fun-filled 25th class reunion.  We have planned a number of events for our combined Sci'87/NSc'87 weekend on October 26-28.  We are currently expecting approximately 100 people to attend, but there is still time to register so, if you didn’t reply yet, we still want to hear from you!

Here is the schedule for our weekend:

• Friday 7pm:  Pub night at the Merchant Tap House, 6 Princess Street, steps away from our hotel rooms.  We will have a section of the pub reserved for us to meet.  There will be a live band that evening.
• Saturday 11:00: Stephanie deHaan has kindly arranged for us to have a tour of the School of Nursing and the School of Medicine, and to meet with a few current professors and students.
• Saturday afternoon: There is a possibility of a game at 1 pm if Queen’s makes it into the playoffs (go Gaels!!).  If this is the case, we will contact registrants with information on how to obtain tickets.
• Saturday Banquet Supper and Photo Show:  

4:30:Class meet and greet with cash bar (followed by a buffet supper), in one of the dining rooms at the Holiday Inn Waterfront, 2 Princess St.  Watch the class web page for location confirmation, or inquire at the front desk when you arrive. Sandra Arthur has kindly offered to organize a slide show of your photosto be shown during our buffet, so get out those albums and scan your pics and send them to: http://www.flickr.com/groups/2101501@N23/

5:30 – 7:30: The buffet supper will consist of rolls, soup, 3 salads, deli meats & cheeses, potatoes, roast chicken, NY striploin, three cheese tortellini, fresh fruits, desserts, coffees and teas.  All taxes and gratuities as well as the room rental for our large group are included; all you need to pay for are your purchases at the cash bar. The cost for the meal, room and staffing will be $60.00 per person. We believe that having a private space to mingle and share a great meal together will make for a memorable reunion.

• Saturday 8 pm:   The doors will open at Clark Hall Pub on campus for our classes to spend the night enjoying the 2012 Tour appearance of the Science ‘87 Blues Band, the Swollen Members!  This is the venue where they first made history as a frosh band, winning the Engineering Week band competition. Tickets must be obtained through the online registration site when you register for dinner, and cost $10 each. Tickets sales will be available first come first served, and will be restricted to 4 per registrant. The purchased tickets will be distributed at the buffet supper.  Any remaining tickets will be sold at the buffet or at the door on Saturday night.  If you purchased tickets, you will need to arrive at Clark no later than 9pm, as at that time the doors will open to the public if space remains.

Holiday Inn @ 8pm: For those classmates who would prefer to remain and chat at the banquet room in the Holiday Inn, we have the use of the room for the evening.

• Sunday morning 10am: If there is interest amongst our Nursing classmates, we will make a reservation for a brunch, likely at the Holiday Inn. 

 

Online registration and payments: For the first time, registration will take place online through the generous assistance of Alumni Relations. Click here to REGISTER NOW!

Refunds/Cancellations:  If you need to cancel your attendance, you may do so with a refund no later than October 19^th.

Registration Deadlines:  19 October is the deadline to register / pay for events.

Proceeds:  Any profits from the reunion weekend will be donated to a local Children’s Charity.
