Professor draws praise for research on teacher education

Tom Russell, a pioneer in self-study teaching and teacher education practices, recently received the first-ever award for Outstanding Contributions to Research in Teacher Education in Canada from the Canadian Association for Teacher Education (CATE). Read more

Grunnan Onarach Award Recepient - Ernest JuryThe Grunnan Onarach Award – October 24

The Ottawa Branch is delighted to announce that the recipient of the 2012 Grunnan Onarach Award is Ernest Jury, Sc’55, MBA’62, a long-time volunteer and organizer of the Over-50s Luncheons. Grunnan Onarach (Gaelic for "Honour Group") was established in 1988 by the Ottawa Branch of the Queen's University Alumni Association to commemorate its 100th anniversary. Membership of this society is granted to individuals who have made important contributions to the Ottawa Alumni Branch.

John Orr Award Recipient - A. Charles BaillieThe John Orr Award – November 17

The 2012 John Orr Award will be presented to Chancellor Emeritus A. Charles Baillie during a celebratory evening in Toronto at the Fairmont Royal York. The 12th Chancellor of Queen's University and the former CEO of TD Bank Financial Group is a renowned business leader, a passionate advocate for education, and a dedicated philanthropist. His dedication to and support of Queen’s includes the endowment of several unique awards and scholarships.
