Take an active role in your alumni association.
Register by October 8 for any or all of the weekend’s events and join us for a fun fall weekend of learning, networking, and celebration.
Grow as a volunteer with a wide range of free AVS workshops on topics including event organization, volunteer management, fall reunions, and alumni branch development. Special Winning with Alumni Sport Symposium workshops are open to members of Queen’s athletic booster clubs and other sports fans on Saturday, October 13.
Round off your weekend in style at the 7th annual Alumni Awards Gala. Join us as we celebrate the inspirational achievements of members of the Queen’s community. Call for nominations: 2013 Alumni Achievement Award
The Alumni Achievement Award is the highest honour bestowed by the Queen’s University Alumni Association. It is presented annually at the QUAA’s Alumni Awards Gala to an alumnus—such as 2012’s award winner His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston—who has demonstrated the high ideals imparted by a Queen’s University education through significant contribution to the arts or sciences, public service, leadership in business, industry or a profession, or community, charitable and volunteer work.
Help shape the Alumni Awards Gala line-up for 2013; submit your online nomination now. Deadline for submissions is October 31.
Members of the Queen's community who have an idea for an innovative program that enriches the University may qualify for special project funding from the QUAA. Deadline for 2013 Grants and Loans applications is also October 31.
Ross May, Artsci’88, and Ann Dowsett Johnston, Artsci’76, are just two of the alumni giving back to Queen’s in the form of volunteerism this fall. Ross, a sales rep at MacAusland Brewing, is bringing his beer-tasting expertise to Kingston to teach his audience all about hops, barley and fermentation. Meanwhile, Ann, an Atkinson Fellow and expert in public policy, will counter this more casual approach to bubbly beverages with a candid and interactive discussion of Canada’s values, attitudes, and marketing trends for the culture surrounding alcohol in Canada. Alumni are welcome to attend these events. Please visit the QSAA website for more information.
Do you have skills or expertise that you could share with current Queen’s students? The Queen’s Student Alumni Association is always looking for ways to connect students and alumni. Contact Ben Seewald for more information.
