Developed in partnership with the AMS, these annual events connect current students to high-profile alumni such as CNN's Chief Business Correspondent Ali Velshi (Artsci'94), NASA Astronaut Dr. Andrew Feustel (PhD'95), Global Activist Amma Bonsu (Artsci'02, Artsci'03), and Editor-in-Chief for the Globe & Mail, John Stackhouse (Com'85).
George Elliott Clarke, PhD'93 is a Canadian poet and playwright. His work largely explores and chronicles the experience of the Black Canadian communities of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick that Clarke refers to as "Africadia".
The QSAA was proud to partner with QBAS (Queen's Black Academic Society) on this event during Black History month. The event was held on February 12, 2013.
Anna Olson, Artsci'91, is a professionally trained pastry chef. She currently resides in Welland in the Niagara region of Ontario, Canada. She is the host of Bake with Anna Olson on Food Network Canada.
The event was held on March 23, 2013 where over 250 students, alumni and community members learned how Anna's passion for food led her journey from Queen's to well known chef and TV host. Attendees also had an opportunity to interact with Anna and and sample foods made using her recipes.
