Queen’s was always a big part of Alvin’s life. Many members of his family have attended Queen’s. Alvin completed his BCom degree in 1986, his uncle, Choy Sin Hew, obtained his MSc and PhD at Queen’s. His brother, Cyril, is a 1990 BCom grad. Two of his first cousins obtained their BSc degrees from Queen’s in 1986 and 1995. His son has been accepted into Queen’s as a potential 2021 graduate.
About your fund
Established in March 2017 by Alvin M. Hew, BCom 1986, and awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need, academic achievement and demonstrated extra-curricular leadership activities, to students in second, third or fourth year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in Smith School of Business.
