Queen's University

Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science

Dear Queen's Supporter,

Queen’s Engineering is known for providing students the opportunity to grow as leaders beyond the classroom. That’s the reason I decided to come to Queen’s – because of the outstanding education I would receive, both within and outside the classroom.

FEAS.jpg Our time at Queen’s is so valuable. Here, we have the opportunity to discover our own passion – what really drives us as individuals. And here, we have the tools we need to pursue our passions. Meghan Brunner, Sc’ 14

I am a 4th year Computer Engineering student, and very active in extra-curricular activities – I hold positions within the Engineering Society, the Queen’s International Centre Council, the Queen’s University Planning Committee and Women in Science and Engineering (WISE). I also hold a part-time job for the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science as part of the Work Study Program where I serve as a member of the Engineering Student Media Squad and have the incredible opportunity to photograph and film a variety of inspiring Engineering stories throughout the Faculty.

   Learning beyond the classroom

These roles and responsibilities have allowed me to learn far more than I ever could by only attending classes and that’s the uniqueness of our Faculty. Ninety percent of Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science undergraduate students point out the importance of “strength of community” in their decision to come to Queen’s.

Unique learning opportunities

By connecting with the community around us, we are learning together, building together, creating together. From exchange programs to integrated and multi-disciplinary learning to fieldwork, there’s no end to the possibilities for student involvement within Queen’s Engineering. All we need is the opportunity. And that’s where alumni like you come in.

Supporting learning and leadership

Your support provides the Faculty with the means to offer students like me the vast opportunities to become involved in our community and learn the leadership skills that will help us excel as the leaders of tomorrow.

Gifts to the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science Dean’s Excellence Fund allow me and my fellow classmates the opportunity to develop invaluable teamwork, leadership, project planning, design, marketing and communication skills.

Queen’s students and graduates are recognized as leaders – and we can do so much more, given the opportunity. That is exactly what your gift to Queen’s will do. I hope you will join me today in making a gift to the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science Dean’s Excellence Fund, where every gift creates opportunity.

Yours truly,

Meghan Brunner, Sc’ 14
