Leading Inclusive Community Collaboration
The Faculty of Education and local charitable organization, H’art School, have partnered to provide H’art students with the unique opportunity to experience a post-secondary education at Queen’s. The first graduates of this program graduated in spring 2013.
H’art participants study toward a five-year Certificate of Learning in the Inclusive Post-Secondary Education Initiative (IPSE), attending classes on campus and working with Queen’s students, from a number of faculties, who volunteer their time.
They are also paired with members of the Social Transition and Education Program (STEP), an Alma Mater Society club that aims to help students with developmental disabilities integrate into the Queen’s community.
