Biography
Previous employment: Assistant at Birmingham City Art Gallery, 1954-56; Courtauld Institute of Art (Teaching Collection Librarian 1960-71); Queens University, Department of Art, 1971+ (Head of Department 1983-89) (Emeritus Professor since1993). Publications (Monographs) "Philip Wilson Steer" 1971 (Oxford, Clarendon Ptess); "The Euston Road School" 1986 (Aldershot, Scolar Press), "The Drawings of Daumier and Millet" 1991 (New Haven, Yale Univerlty Press); "Honoré Daumier" 1996 (Yale U.P.); "William Coldstream" 2004 (Yale U.P.). Numerous article and reviews, 1966 to 2009.
