  • Winisk Site 500 Project

    ASU in collaboration with WESA Inc were successful in tendering a bid to support a clean up project, Mid Canada Line, Hudson Bay, The ASU will setup and operate a mobile laboratory at the site in 2011 and 2012.

  • Iqaluit ASU

    The ASU mobile laboratory situated on Baffin Island, Iqaluit has been fully accredited for PCBs in soil, Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons in Soil (CCME method F1-F3) and for Metals in Soil by XRF (As, Cd, Cr, Co, Cu, Pb, Ni and Zn). The notice of accreditation was received Mar 2008.

  • New Equipment

    ASU purchases several new pieces of analytical hardware including, a DIONEX ICS3000 ion chromatography system with conductivity and variable wavelength detectors, an ultrasonic nebulizer for the ICP-OES instrument, and a new 7000 series GC from Agilent.

  • DYE-M Lab Set Up

    ASU sets up mobile lab for metals analysis at DYE-M, Cape Dyer, Nu. Varian 240 and 280 AA spectrometers and a minipal EDXRF spectrometer were used for this multi year clean-up project. Almost 7000 samples were successfully analyzed in 2008 and 2009.
