ARTF101/3.0 – Fundamentals of Drawing and Painting


PREREQUISITE: permission of Fine Art Program (Visual Art)

EXCLUSION: No more than 1 course from ARTF 101/3.0; ARTF 105/6.0; ARTF 106/3.0; ARTF 127/6.0; ARTF 128/6.0

The ARTF101 course is an exploration, through drawing and painting, of a wide range of visual problems encountered by the contemporary artist. To achieve this, projects will explore a range of materials and techniques and their expressive qualities, using both traditional and non-traditional mediums and supports. Self-motivation, research and exploration, invention and individuality of approach will be encouraged in this effort.

Estimated Materials Cost: $300

Enrolment is limited.

Enrolment in ARTF101 is on a first come first served basis. A permission number is required to enrol but does not guarantee a spot in the class. Permission numbers will be available starting June 30th. Email Cynthia Collins,, for a permission number.
