New edition of Smol's seminal volume on diatoms.
John P. Smol and Eugene F. Stoermer have co-edited a new edition of their book The Diatoms. Applications for the Environmental and Earth Sciences (Cambridge University Press). First published in 1999, the volume covers a broad array of uses for diatoms in environmental and earth science research.
