Students in the First-Year Program take five courses per term. The combination of courses may include full-year courses, or half-year courses (offered during a single term). Each first-year student will meet with an academic advisor prior to the beginning of the school year for guidance in selecting their courses.
Students in the Upper-Year Program complete five courses (15.0 credit units) in both the Fall and Winter Terms, three courses (9.0 credits units) during the Spring Term, and two courses (6.0 credit units) during the Summer Term.
The course curriculum at the BISC is designed to integrate with degree programs at Queen's University's Kingston campus. Every course offered in the First-Year Program is a Queen's University degree credit course and comprises 36 contact hours per term (three hours per week, Monday-Thursday).
