Some Tips and Tricks for Parents...

Applying for your first year of university is a big step and deciding to study abroad for your first year is an even bigger one. Here are a couple of links to important resources and information that you and your daughter/son should be looking at to prepare for the Bader International Study Centre first year program:

Read the BISC Handbook

Refer to the Student Awards website for funding information

Familiarize yourself with the UK Home Office

Familiarize yourself with the Tier 4 Visa Application and all the required documents

Familiarize yourself with the Emergency Support Program at Queen’s

Familiarize yourself with academic accommodations at Queen’s through Health Counseling and Disability Services (HCDS)

Look for Supplementary Health Insurance Options, for instance through the AMS at Queen’s

Attend the Summer Orientation to Academics and Resources (SOAR) held in July
