Dr. Kyriakopoulou's research interests focus on the political power of social media and their impact upon the democratization of authoritarian states. She also examines issues of Privacy and Civil Rights as they are emerging from recent cases concerning surveillance of citizens and data collection activities, and the political and social dimensions of the European crisis and its impact on the culture, politics and society of the Greek state.
