Library

The library doors surrounded by green foliage.

The BISC has a small lending library in Herstmonceux Castle with a full-time librarian on-hand to locate and obtain materials and consult on their availability.

The core collection of the Library supports the academic courses taught at the BISC, and at least one copy of all required and recommended texts is routinely kept on reserve. The BISC Library is also stocked with other course-related resources such as CD-ROMs, audio recordings, slides, and videos. In addition, computers connected to the BISC Network have access to most of the digital resources available through the libraries at Queen's University.

To augment research materials available for students and faculty, the BISC has borrowing agreements with:

  • The University of Sussex Library
  • The East Sussex Public Library
  • British Interlibrary Loans System

Library trips are made to Sussex University on a regular basis.

You are also encouraged to make use of resources available (Public Records Offices, galleries, museums, etc.) during the regular Field Studies Trips.
