Bader Hall is located just a five-minute walk from the Castle through the beautiful Herstmonceux grounds, and provides accommodation for students, faculty, and guests. Bader Hall was completely renovated in 1994, and is very similar to university residences in North America, offering co-ed halls, with twin-share, single-gender rooms.
The student quarters in Bader Hall have about 150 bedrooms; each student is provided with a bed, desk, chair, bedside table, lamp, cupboard, noticeboard, and wardrobe. There is high-speed WiFi throughout, as well as Ethernet connections in each room. Bedding (sheets, duvet, pillow and covers) and towels (bath and hand) are provided and laundered on a weekly basis.
Each corridor has single-gender bathroom facilities, with toilet stalls, showers, and sinks. Bader Hall comes equipped with a coin-operated laundry and storage facilities, as well as several kitchenettes, each containing a fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, sink, and storage units — all accessible at any time. A number of Common Rooms can also be found inside Bader Hall: two of them are equipped with sofas and comfortable chairs, a TV, VCR player, and VHS tapes; whilst others are reserved for group or quiet study, with desks and chairs. There is also a games room with games consoles. Computing facilities with PCs and printers are located in Bader Hall and in the Castle.
Faculty and guests residing in Bader Hall have access to the guest-only wing, where rooms are either set up with apartment or en-suite facilities.
