Queen’s University bursary assistance is granted after the student’s own financial contribution to the cost of his/her education, parental assistance, government aid assistance, or a bank line of credit have been exhausted. Financial need is the primary consideration in the granting of a bursary.
In order to be considered for the majority of Queen's bursaries, including the ones specifically pertaining to Engineering and Applied Science students, students need to complete a single General Bursary application form (unless otherwise noted in the terms of the awards), which is available from the Student Awards website at www.queensu.ca/registrar/awards . The deadline for this application is 31 October. If a student is not granted an Engineering and Applied Science bursary or award he/she is still eligible to receive General Bursary funds. Funds will be distributed at the beginning of Winter Term. Bursaries and awards are paid to the student's tuition account if a balance is owing, and any remaining funds are paid by cheque or electronic funds transfer. The values of the bursaries and awards are variable, unless otherwise noted. For complete terms of these, and other named bursaries and awards see the Student Awards website.
