Established by Ian Vorres, B.A. '50, and awarded to an upper year undergraduate or a graduate student, on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, and a written proposal, who is intending: 1) to pursue original work (a thesis or other project) in Greece for one year or two consecutive years on a subject related to Greece of any historical period, in philology, archaeology, history, or philosophy; or 2) to participate in a summer session or excavation in Greece sponsored by the Canadian Archaeological Institute in Athens, The American School of Classical Studies at Athens, or other approved institutions; or 3) to attend a full year program at The American School of Classical Studies at Athens, The College Year in Athens, or other approved institution. (These alternatives are listed in order of priority.) Applicants should complete a bursary application form available from the department, submit a letter of application with C.V. and project description, along with the names of two referees to the Department of Classics. Selection will be made in consultation with the Student Awards Office. Application deadline: March 31
