In all programs in the Faculty students must complete courses in Complementary Studies amounting to at least 225 AU. All of the programs in the Faculty have courses in Complementary Studies built into the CORE of the curriculum, and/or have portions of technical courses assigned to topics in Complementary Studies. The exact requirements vary from program to program, the details are provided in the curriculum for each program.
Complementary Studies complement the technical content of a student's curriculum, and are sub-divided into six areas of study:

Communications (CMC);

Humanities and Social Sciences (H&SS - List A)*;

Linkage and Professional Issues (LNK - List B)*;

Performance Arts and Languages (PAL - List C)*; and

Management (MGT - List D)*.
Students in all Programs must complete courses that provide at least 225 AU (Accreditation Units) of Complementary Studies. This MUST include a minimum of:

*Students select their Complementary Studies elective(s) from a list of approved courses. The lists are updated each year, and a course qualifies as a Complementary Studies course only if it appears on the list for the Academic Session in which the course is taken.
