Arts and Science Departments, Programs and Courses Mathematics and Statistics Admission to Honours and Degree with Distinction

Admission to Honours and Degree with Distinction
Applicants for admission to honours in a program with a 7.0- or 10.0-credit concentration in Mathematics or Statistics who have completed the credits prescribed in that program for years 1 and 2, and at least 2.0 of the credits prescribed for years 3 and 4 if they are in the 10.0-credit concentration will be considered. Acceptance will be governed by the standards in Regulation 23, Admission to Honours. When they have completed the remaining requirements for an honours degree, the recommendation of the Department for Degree with Distinction will be consistent with Regulation 26, Degree with Distinction.
Applicants who have taken 1.0 or more of the 100- or 200-level credits that are parallel to, but less demanding than, those listed under Years 1 and 2 may be accepted into the final year if their overall achievement in the first three years indicates that they are able to complete their program successfully. For Degree with Distinction, the recommendation of the Department will follow Regulation 26.
