Key Dates
Dates apply to the Fall-Winter academic year beginning in September 2010. See the chapter Sessional Dates at the back of the Calendar for a chronological list of events.
 
Registration for Fall-Winter Degree program selection 26 April-14 May
Students obtain time ticket for course selection             1 June
Students view approved degree program on QCARD 7 June
Deadline to clear outstanding debts prior to course selection 15 June
Fall-Winter timetable available  18 June
Course selection (Access to some courses may be limited) 28 June-16 July
Registration Minimum registration payment due 1 August
Completion of registration process on QCARD begins for students who have registered and prepaid 30 August
Late Registration After 1 August (after 10 January - Winter Term)
1  students must pay the registration administration charge: $150 for full-time students, $50 for part-time students.
After 24 September (after 21 January - Winter Term)
1  all courses require written verification of attendance in classes from the instructor.
2  students must submit a written appeal to the Office of the Associate Dean (Studies), c/o the Faculty Office, F200 Mackintosh-Corry Hall, explaining why the late registration should be accepted.
3  if the appeal is granted, students then pay the registration administration charge: $150 for full-time students, $50 for part-time students.

Adding and Dropping Courses
Beginning 1 September, students can add and drop courses on QCARD. Verbal requests to course instructors and/or absence from class do not constitute withdrawing from courses and usually result in failure and loss of possible fee refund.
Adding Last date to add Fall Term and  Fall-Winter Session courses 24 September
Last date to add Winter Term courses 21 January
    Last date to obtain full refund**   Last date to drop no academic penalty
Dropping Fall Term course 24 September 5 November
Fall-Winter Session course 24 September 21 January
Winter Term course 21 January 4 March
Adding and Dropping Courses Late Students must submit a written appeal and a non-refundable payment of $50 to the Office of the Associate Dean (Studies), c/o the Faculty Office, F200 Mackintosh-Corry Hall, and should explain the reasons for being late.
Complete Withdrawal from the University
Last date to withdraw and obtain full refund**  24 September
NOTE    Student and Bus-It cards must be returned for full or partial refunds of student interest fees.

** Refunds are calculated from the date that students enter the course drop on QCARD. When the full refund period ends, an initial 25 per cent is deducted from the total fee charged; thereafter a daily percentage is deducted until 5 November for Fall Term courses and 4 March for Winter Term courses, when zero refund is left. Fall-Winter Session courses are treated as a combination of a Fall Term course and a Winter Term course.
