35. Red Pine
         Pinus resinosa

Traditionally found in forestry plantationsthroughout eastern Canada. Distinguished from other native pines by thecolourful, red bark and by its long needles in bunches of two. Consideredas a desirable structural timber, it is generally used for poles and railway-ties.
