Profile

Dr. Timothy Hanna is a clinician scientist at the Division of Cancer Care and Epidemiology, Cancer Research Institute at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, CanadaHe is also a radiation oncologist at the Cancer Center of Southeastern Ontario. His work focuses on health services research in oncology. This has involved identifying barriers to access and quality in radiotherapy, and modeling the benefit of optimally utilized radiotherapy. Dr. Hanna recently completed a two-year fellowship at the Collaboration for Cancer Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CCORE) at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney, Australia (2010-2012). He developed models of population benefit of optimal radiotherapy utilization as part of his PhD thesis work and fellowship there, working with Prof M Barton, Prof G Delaney and Dr. J Shafiq. Prior to this, he trained at Queen’s University in Radiation Oncology and completed an MSc with Dr. WJ Mackillop, focusing on barriers to access to radiation and its impact on cancer outcomes for endometrial cancer. Dr. Hanna obtained his MD at the University of Toronto. ­
