Course Notes

The Course Guide contains assignments, lecture notes, and administrative information and is required to complete the course. Registered students will be able to access the Course Guide on Moodle beginning the first day of term (7 May 2012).

Required Textbook

• Ancient Near Eastern History and Culture by William H. Stiebing, 2nd ed., 2009, Longman.

Please note that the course requires the second edition of this text. The first edition will be of no help. The second edition includes not merely an overview and explanation of events but a number of illustrations and excerpts from translated contemporary documents. These documents and pictures are very important for your understanding of each of the cultures studied in this course.

Any other material you need for the course will be found on Moodle. You will be able to access this material as the course proceeds.

The text listed above may be ordered online from Queen's Campus Bookstore or picked up in person.
