Message from the Instructor

Welcome to FREN P16 Online.

This course is designed to provide you with some basic language skills in French to enable you to use and understand familiar everyday expressions.

There will be opportunities to regularly interact with classmates, myself, and the Teaching Assistants throughout the course using the Elluminate web conferencing platform and Moodle discussion boards.  However, your success in this course will rely very much on your own personal efforts. You are expected to cover a large amount of material and make use of the numerous resources provided through Tell Me More, an excellent online learning program. I have divided the material into 12 weekly units of a reasonable size to help you through the course. Nonetheless, the course will require a considerable commitment of your time. It is therefore important that you pace yourself to keep up with the different units and not fall behind.

In each unit, you will watch short video clips, view images, listen to native speakers and have an opportunity to practice speaking and writing through a range of reading, writing, listening and pronunciation exercises.
