Course Description

This online psychology course is a study of the individual in the social context: Self and identity, social cognition, interpersonal behavior (affiliation, attraction, sex, aggression, altruism); social attitudes, prejudice and discrimination; social influence and group processes (conformity, leadership and intergroup relations); applied social psychology.

Course Objectives

The objective of PSYC 241/3.0 is to introduce students to the study of social psychology. PSYC 241/3.0 offers a broad and balanced look at historical and current advances in the field. The aims are to offer students a course that:

  1. Provides students with an appropriate link between Introductory Psychology and upper year social psychology courses;
  2. Provides a comprehensive overview of the topics investigated in social psychology;
  3. Provides an understanding of theoretical and applied social psychological research
