STAT 263/3.0: Introduction to Statistics

Course Description

This online statistics course is a basic course in statistical methods with the necessary probability included. Topics include probability models, random variables, distributions, estimation, hypothesis testing, elementary nonparametric methods. May not be taken concurrently with or subsequently to STAT 269/3.0.

Course Introduction

STAT 263/3.0 is a twelve week Moodle-based (online) course which presents the basic concepts and methodology of statistics. A pre-test for the course is available (below). This test does not count toward the course but will be useful to students who wish to confirm that they have the algebra and computational skills necessary for the successful completion of the course.
