Online Courses in Writing 

The following online writing courses are not offered in every term. Please check the subject chart and/or a specific course page to see when courses are offered.

WRIT 125/3.0: Effective Writing I (Fall) (Winter) (Summer)

This online writing course is a study of the basic principles of academic writing, including a series of assignments that emphasize logical organization, stylistic clarity, and grammatical precision.

WRIT 195/3.0: Modular Writing (Fall) (Summer)

This online writing course is organized around a menu of ten genres so that it can be tailored to individual interests. Students select five modules, ranging from the business memorandum to the literary review. Complementing the modules is a mandatory Grammar and Mechanics assessment.

WRIT 295/3.0: Literary Non-Fiction (Winter)

This online writing course is a study of the essay as a literary form, including analysis of readings as well as a series of writing assignments. Complementing the assignments is a mandatory Grammar and Style component.
