Evaluation

You must pass the Grammar Test in order to pass the course (the grammar test is worth 10%).
Additionally, you must do either Module 1 or 2, but not both (worth 10%).

Then choose up to 4 of the remaining modules to equal a value of 80%.

The value of the grammar test, module 1 or 2, plus remaining modules is to total 100 %.

Module 1 - due 16 May Introduction to the writing process - personal narrative, memo, or process analysis (10%)
OR    
Module 2 - due 23 May Business Writing - Conveying bad news well (10%)
Then choose from the remaining modules to equal a value of 80%.  
Module 3 - due 30 May Critical thinking I - Writing a film or technology review (20%)
Module 4 - due 6 June Writing for Children - Learning to develop your "voice", Part I (20%)
Module 5 - due 13 June Interview and Commentary (20%)
Module 6 - due 20 June **Technical Writing - The feasibility, progress, activity, and trouble report (40%)
Module 7 - due 27 June Critical Thinking II - The position paper (20%)
Module 8 - due 4 July **The Formal Research Paper Proposal - Developing a working and annotated bibliography, creating a research proposal, and writing the research paper's outline (40%)
Module 9 - due 11 July Travel Writing - Developing your own voice, Part II (20%)
Module 10 - due 18 July Working With a Net: Incorporating the World Wide Web into your Writing (20%)
The grammar test is due no later than 27 June 2013. (10%)

** These two modules, the report and the research paper proposal, are complex and require library research. They are also more time-consuming and extensive than the other modules; therefore, they count as two modules (40% each). You can do both, one, or neither, as you prefer.

There is no final exam.
