    The Queen's Advantage:
    Flexibility to meet your needs

Wherever you are, whatever you do, you can take Queen’s Arts and Science online courses or earn a degree without disrupting your life.

Every aspect of a Queen’s course is designed with highly motivated, busy people in mind. We let you continue your studies elsewhere or maintain a job and family life while advancing your education.

    • Degree flexibility: Queen’s currently offers three complete general BA degrees—in English, Psychology, or History. You can take as long as you need to complete your degree and customize your course-load to fit your life. While rigorous, our degree programs are not lockstep. If you need to take a term or two off, you can do so without penalty.
    • Course delivery: Queen’s online courses have set start and finish dates—in fall, winter, and summer terms—but you aren’t required to be on your computer at a set time every day. All course materials are designed for study anytime. Meanwhile, there will be ample opportunity to interact with professors and peers to help you put your new knowledge and skills into practice and perspective.
    • Time commitment: If you take a full course (6.0 credits), expect to spend 15 to 20 hours per week on your studies (longer in condensed summer courses)—including readings, assignments, online interactions, and study. A full three-year BA requires 90.0 credits, which can be spread over several years.
    • More courses every year: Queen’s is committed to adding new Arts and Science courses to our online offerings every year. Our professors work with experienced instructional designers to ensure a quality learning product. Each course generally takes a year to convert to a truly online interactive experience, and we take the time to do it right. With each new course we add, you can expect the same high quality as in all Queen’s courses.
    • Quick registration process: Everything you need to apply to Queen’s and register for a course is available on this website. Just click the links at the top of this webpage. You don’t need to go through the main Queen’s registration process. Once you register, you’ll receive instant email confirmation with instructions for what to do next. If you need help, please call our office (613-533-3322).
