Moodle: Our Online Learning Environment

Registered students gain access to their course sites on Moodle beginning the first day of the term.

Moodle is an open-source, password-protected learning management system. It is used by Continuing and Distance Studies to deliver complete courses online.

Moodle provides a variety of tools for managing and delivering instruction, including:

  • content management and delivery
  • communication - one-to-one and many-to-many, both real time and asynchronous
  • collaboration (student projects and presentations), assessment, and evaluation
  • course administration and electronic grade management
  • online assignment submission
  • online quizzes
  • PowerPoint (or other format) slide presentations
  • videos
  • course updates
  • forums

Individualized exam schedule information is available from your Moodle course site. Exam schedule information is posted about two weeks before the start of exams.

Make a point to check your Moodle site regularly. Instructors may let you know the frequency that they post items to Moodle.

You must activate your NetID to access Moodle.

Need help? More information about Moodle can be found on the ITServices site. For technical help with accessing Moodle, contact CDS Moodle Support.
